My friend Kelley has this shower curtain and it is fabulous.
So on my list of things to get at the Fabric District were fabric for a similar shower curtain. I'll keep you posed on how it turns out.

Lucky! I've been dying to get that curtain...I still might, even though it's ridiculously expensive. I thought of making one, too - but then quickly realized that with all the fabric I'd have to buy, it would probably be more expensive that just shelling out the cash for the real one.

Oh I have had a picture of those curtains saved for awhile and wanting to try to make them myself, I am excited to see how your attempt turns out!
ReplyDeleteIf you do make it will you pretty pretty please post a tutorial? I wanted to make a shower curtain like this but I got overwhelmed very quickly. I only recently started sewing and I had no idea where to start. I can not wait to see yours!!
ReplyDeleteI love those shower curtains, but I too thought it would be cheaper to just buy them than make them (oh I will for sure get both of the colors, even if I only have one bathroom when I get my own place) ha ha ha, I feel like the hardest fabrics to find are solid colors! AND they are usually more expensive.

ReplyDeleteI am in the process of making this shower curtain right now in white yellow and grey! I love it! 8 hues of fabric in your color choice. 10 ruffles, each 1 yd, cut into 8.5 in strips. (makes 72 by 72 curtain. For a quick time saver, by a cheap solid shower curtain as your base to sew the ruffles on- I picked a water resistant white cotton shower curtain- works perfectly. I'm almost done and once I finish I will blog a tutorial at http://thedomesticdillarddiva.blogspot.com.
