Double Dots

cardigan: me (last seen here, similar fabric here), top: Target (similar style here), pants: Gap, shoes: Enzo Angiolini, belt: J.Crew (currently loving this one)

Wearing similar prints in an outfit works as long as you mix it up a bit when it comes to scale.  I am a stripes girl at heart, but I have been accumulating quite the stash of polka dot fabric.  And I can hear them calling out "cut me!" "sew me!" from my fabric closet right now.  My fabric stash and I have quite the bond.

  2. I am loving how you styled the dots on dots. It's all about pattern mixing. I have a similar post about mixing patterns here:

  10. I have a question for you on sewing jersey and other knits if you don't mind :) If not using a serger, what stitch do you use on hems and sleeve cuffs of shirts or on your maxi skirt? The standard straight stitch seems to be too tight since it has no give but I don't want the look of a zigzag stitch, know what I mean? Any suggestions for a different stitch or changing up the stitch length/width of the straight stitch? Thanks!!! I used your idea to make an awesome doleman sleeve shirt out of this fabulous grey jersey knit but I'm not happy with the hems.
