Project Pinwheel: Skirt Submissions

I am totally excited to show you these gorgeous pinwheel skirts!

I may or may not have been counting down the days till I got to share them with you.  I was a little nervous when I set this whole thing up because I was pretty sure that my directions might be incoherent, but these amazing ladies nailed it!

Want to see them?

Katri's skirt looks great!  The green is beautiful and will transition easily into a fall skirt.  Plus, I'm sure it will look fantastic with her beautiful red hair.

Christy, from littlebettydesigns submitted this darling one.  I love the coral color, and that zipper and waistband are impeccable.  What a pro.

Seychelle made this beauty.  She did hers out of a cute pinstripe wool, so it's perfect to wear to the office.  I am especially loving the pinstripes!

I know.  I had to pick my jaw up off the ground too.  Amy is one of my dear friends and is in the process of finishing this one for her cute little girl.  She used suede for the skirt, so it is pretty tricky to sew.  And I can't get enough of that lace! Check out her other fabulous projects over at ourdailyobsessions.

That you SO much for sending me pictures of your beautiful skirts!  They all turned out great!

I just wanted to show you my first version of this skirt as well.  I made it a while ago, and was going to rephotograph it, but didn't end up having time, so please excuse the lighting!

I did this one out of an amazing fabric that I couldn't tell you the name of to save my life.  It was on the clearance aisle at Joann's and feels soft like silk, but has a great drape and doesn't wrinkle.  I lined it with a yellow satin and made it bubble under.  The possibilities on the versions you can make of this skirt are endless.

  3. Your directions were perfect and easy to follow! What took us a while was figuring out how to line up the stripes in the fabric! I'm going to make another one using fabric that isn't striped! :)

  4. So I didn't participate in the project, but I was pretty excited to see what everyone made. I haven't had the time to go out shopping for a machine yet, but once I do, you know this will be one of the projects on my list. They all turned out great! Love the little girl one with the lace.
